The Birdsall House is a testimonial to the status achieved by a miller in this community. Known also as "The Mill House", it is a fine example of late Georgian architecture.

A two-story structure, with a hall running all the way through both lower and upper levels, its braced-frame construction effectively supports the house. The timbers abut and are corner braced, using diagonal timber bracing. The home of Benjamin Birdsall and his brother, Joseph, owners of the mill that stood across the street, is estimated to have been built around 1794. Benjamin Birdsall held the distinction of having been named by George Washington to the Assembly of the Revolutionary Convention.
