The Town of Hempstead is accepting pre-applications for eligible activities under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The CDBG program aims to improve the economic and physical environment of eligible low and moderate income residents. Allowable activities may include: construction, demolition, improvements to public infrastructure, public facilities, and economic development services. Also, the CDBG program supports public service activities such as job assistance, youth engagement and crime prevention initiatives.

All projects must meet the Federal CDBG program objectives of being principally targeted towards persons of low and moderate income, and activities that will provide access to; decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanded economic opportunities.
