Yes, all players who attend the Lacrosse Academy must be residents of the Town of Hempstead.
No, all participants are required to bring his/her own lacrosse equipment. The lacrosse academy does not carry spare equipment. Each player will receive a scrimmage jersey, compliments of the Lacrosse Academy.
Required Equipment for Boys: Stick, helmet, mouthpiece, shoulder pads, elbow pads, athletic supporter, cleats, and gloves. In addition, goalies need to wear a chest protector.
Required Equipment for Girls: Goggles, mouthpiece, cleats, and stick. A chest protector is mandatory for goalies.
Yes, we welcome all experience levels, especially beginners.
Yes. The academy provides quality instruction for all positions, including goalie.
Yes, we do play in the rain, but not in dangerous weather conditions, such as thunder and lightning. The academy uses the NCAA guidelines in determining when to resume instruction (30 minutes after the last lightning strike).

Yes, all participants may sign up for multiple weeks of the Lacrosse Academy.
Children ages 5 to 13 may participate in the Lacrosse Academy. Groups are usually split as followed: 5 to 6; 7 to 8; 9 to 10; 11 to 13.
No, the boys and girls will be practicing on separate fields with different instructors. The clinics are offered during the same time frames, but the boys and girls will be separated for instruction.
The young athletes are grouped by age, and within their age groups, they are grouped by ability level. The players are evaluated by the Lacrosse Academy staff on the first day of the week and are continuously evaluated throughout the week. The goal of the Academy is for every young lacrosse player to get the most out of their experience.
The academy boasts a championship-caliber faculty, comprised of respected college and high school coaches, along with outstanding college players.
No, you may sign up for individual instruction without participating in the weeklong Lacrosse Academy clinics. However, if you want to become a better lacrosse player, we suggest participating in both the Academy clinics and individual instruction sessions.
Rates for the one-on-one training are set at $38.50 per hour with a special $99 rate for a set of three, one-hour instruction periods. Reserve a time and location (town parks only) that is convenient for you (Mondays through Fridays). Groups of 2 to 5 players will pay $27.50 per hour, per player. The hours are flexible and appointments are required in advance by calling the academy office at 516-783-3208.
The two-hour clinics for players ages 5 and 6 are priced at $66 per child per week. The three-hour clinics are priced at $77 per youngster per week. There is a reduced rate of $55 for additional family members for both the two and three-hour clinics if scheduled for the same week.
The only time the Lacrosse Academy will give a refund will be for medical reasons. If an injury occurs and there is a signed note from a medical doctor stating your child can no longer participate, a refund will be provided.
