Join us on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 10 AM to 4 PM, at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter for the annual Rabies Vaccine Program and Pet Fair. The shelter is located at 3320 Beltagh Avenue in Wantagh.
Rabies Clinic
Town of Hempstead residents may have their dogs and cats vaccinated against Rabies FREE OF CHARGE! All dogs must have a current dog license, or they will need to purchase a new license ($10 for spay/neutered dogs; $18 for non-spayed/non-neutered dogs). The Town Clerk's Office staff will be on-site to issue licenses. If applicable, owners must have a spay/neuter certificate.
No pre-registration is required. All dogs must be on leashes; cats must be in pet carriers. Call the shelter at (516) 785-5220, extension 4613 for information.
Pet Fair
Loving dogs and cats housed at our shelter need a home! On October 7th the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter will be waiving all adoption fees and will be including age-appropriate vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and microchipping with every adoption.
Free Microchipping
During the Pet Fair, town residents may have their cat or licensed dog microchipped FREE OF CHARGE! In the event that your "chipped" pet becomes lost and is brought to an animal shelter nationwide, it can be quickly scanned for your contact information to help you be reunited quickly.
