Junior Ocean Lifeguarding

Junior Ocean Guards is a youth-based program teaching valuable aquatic skills, beach environment awareness and the role of ocean lifeguards.   Children will learn safety rules of ocean swimming , learn how to work as a team , personal lifesaving  and first aid.  At the conclusion of the program all Juniors will compete in a friendly tournament with awards.

Program Information

The Program Meets : Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday at Town Park Point Lookout Beach

Participates must be strong swimmers and comfortable with the ocean environment, any child unable to meet the criteria will be removed from the program.

Age Groups:  ( all participants must be STRONG swimmers and a Swim Test will given on the first day of class to asses skills ) 

• 8 - 9 year old, 
• 10 - 11 year old 
• 12 -13 year old 
•  14-15 year old

Time: 9:00am-1:00pm  

Program Runs : June 28th, 2022 - August 14th, 2022

Program Cost: $250.00 per participant

Each Junior Lifeguard will receive the following on the first day of class:

           T-Shirt

           Rash Guard 

           Draw String Bag 

*Prior to the beginning of class  parents will receive a detailed e-mail explaining what each child needs for the  program.  The Town of Hempstead will also issue a Town of Hempstead Parking Pass for the Junior Lifeguard Program. Parking  passes are only valid  for the Junior Lifeguard Program during listed dates .  Only ONE Parking pass will be issued per house hold.
