Parking: Baldwin, Bellmore, Merrick, Seaford & Wantagh
Resident Commuter Parking Permits are required for all Hempstead Town-maintained parking spaces in the Baldwin, Bellmore, Merrick, Seaford, and Wantagh Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) commuter lots. These permits were created in order to prevent non-Town of Hempstead residents from parking in town commuter lots. The fee for a one-year registration is $10. The license period is April 1 to March 31. You must be a Town of Hempstead resident to purchase a Resident Commuter Parking Permit. Town residents who purchase a Resident Commuter Parking Permit may park in any Town-maintained space in the Bellmore, Merrick, Seaford, or Wantagh LIRR commuter lots and general commuter spaces at the Baldwin station. (Please note: The separate purchase ($3 for a one-year registration) of a Baldwin Special District Parking Permit is required to park in Baldwin resident-only parking spaces.)
