Sewing Basics- Beginner(NEW)

In this class we will learn how to use a sewing machine, how to make a bobbin and thread the machine, along with basic sewing machine maintenance. We will also learn how to read and lay out a pattern.  We will learn basic stitches and how they are used.  As we progress, we will add new skills like applying elastic and installing a zipper.   Our first project will be a reversible tote bag.   Please bring your sewing machine to class.  Class is limited to 20 adults.  This class is offered at Bernard Brown Park, Uniondale.

  • Fee: $80
    • Seniors/Veterans:  $40  (Reduced rate also applies to the physically challenged and volunteer firefighters)
