Be Home Smart!
Supervisor Don Clavin and the Town Board have announced that the Town of Hempstead is partnering with New York Solar Energy Industries Association, Drive Electric Long Island, and PSEG-LI to offer a series of "Be Home Smart" seminars, advising residents of the potential of incorporating solar, electric and energy efficient sources into their energy plans for both homes and businesses.
The seminars, being presented across the township, will address the cost of installing solar power, the financial savings associated with photovoltaic energy, as well as state and federal tax incentives, which make “going solar” more cost effective. The seminars will also include information about other ways to “electrify” your home by including an electric vehicle, or ground or air source heat pumps, both of which can be powered by clean, renewable solar energy. Electric vehicles will also be on display!
Seminars will be held in the evenings from 6:30-8:30 PM in each Councilmatic District. Registration is required in advance as space is limited! See dates and seminar locations below.
